These VR Games Make it Worth it to Own a VR Headset

Read Time:3 Minute, 42 Second

Virtual Reality is the most exciting thing going on in video games at the moment. However, the platform you choose dictates the video games you can play. For example, PlayStation VR is quite cheap than other available alternatives, and although wiring it up for the first time can be a nightmare, it works perfectly with small gaming spaces, but other expensive ones can be fancier in different ways. Oculus Quest, for instance, is a wireless, all-in-one platform.

The good news is more games are coming and the best part is that most of them are backed by renowned publishers.

Without further ado, here are the VR games that make it worth owning a VR headset.

Trover Saves The Universe

This is a popular comedy title developed by Squanch Games, a team created by Justin Roiland. The game feels more like the Rick & Morty adventure, but features different characters, making it one of the best VR games available. Alien races, bizarre and colorful stories, fun, hilarious voices, and ridiculous missions are some of the reasons you should get this game.

The game is now available on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch as well as the Oculus VR headsets.

Stars Wars: Squadrons

Developed by Motive Studios, Star Wars: Squadrons is a great VR game that will without a doubt fulfill your childhood dreams. Allowing you to play as both Imperial and Rebel pilots, this combat-focused title is perfect for VR.

The game has multiplayer modes as well as a single-player campaign and even though it isn’t VR exclusive, playing the game in the VR headset adds to the excitement one experiences when traveling around space in a TIE Fighter or X-Wing.

Half-Life: Alyx

While some gamers were doubtful that Half-Life, Alyx would fill the shoes left behind by Valve back in 2007, saying this is a good game would be true; in fact, it’s one of the best.

All the inventive, head-scratching puzzles you experienced from computer games are here. Tense jaunts across the zombie-infested pits that instill terror are part of this great game.

If you’re looking for the best VR title to play today, then Half-Life: Alyx is your best bet. The game is available for free with the purchase of the HTC Vive Cosmos Elite and Valve Index.

No Man’s Sky

Developed by Hello Games, No Man’s Sky is an exciting action-packed survival game released in 2019. The game is perfectly designed for a mind-blowing VR experience.

Discovering and traversing the generated world is an epic adventure that many players would enjoy. Nevertheless, the publisher has taken it to a whole new level by making the games VR experience better as compared to what other publishers have done on their games.

Superhot VR

Since its days as a browser-based demo back in 2013, Superhot has evolved to become one of the best VR games. Superhot VR greatly benefits from the versatility of a bigger space. With the difficulty of gameplay ramping up, you will need every inch of cover to get away from the incoming fire as you crush faceless rivals using shurikens, guns, and your clenched firsts.

Room VR: A Dark Matter

Released by Fireproof Games in early 2020, the Room VR: A Dark Matter is available on different VR systems.

It’s an escape room, creepy, and mystery horror story with lots of puzzles involved, making it more challenging for experienced gamers. However, newbies who need a helping hand can also get help from the clues section.

The imagery and visuals of this incredible game are truly outstanding. We don’t want to give lots of details here because the game itself is shrouded in mystery, but if you’re a fan of Lovecraftian, Ancient Egypt, or Occult horror, then you’ll enjoy a great VR experience.
