Rob Smart is an Emerging Technology Specialist located at IBM Hursley where he works alongside Ian Hughes as the UK section of the IBM CIO office Metaverse project team.

In Second Life Rob is known as Yossarian Seattle and became known to some as the inventor of the translation HUD, which was his second foray into integrating Virtual Worlds with Web applications. The first foray being to enable some of IBMs messaging products to publish events into SL.

Since then Rob has worked for IBM and several customers integrating their internal IT services with various virtual world platforms. His interests now extend to the OpenSim project with aims to make it the choice platform to integrate your data with.
