Hey, I emailed Dassault Systems and they said the song was made especially for the ad in France, the title is "Tranquille le Chat," by Laurent D'Herbrecourt.

[...] If the potential interests you, then definitely check the Dassault Systems advertisement that Ian posted a few days ago. They paint a great picture of what happens when you pull these capabilities out of the flatscreen and put them on the tabletop. Future aside, Dassault is doing some interesting work in immersive 3d experiences today. Blogroll [...]

Sébastien thankyou for the link. This is very interesting and will be also to my collegue John Tolva of http://www.ascentstage.com/
He was running the team that built http://www.eternalegypt.org/ extending the egyptian experience out onto the web.
More interconnections and wheels within wheels :-)

As I'm working for them, and on such topics, I can tell you that it's really what they want to achieve, and they give themselves the means to do it!

The presentation they gave to 400 spectators on a 400m˛ stereoscopic screen about the Khufu pyramid theory is a first step towards this.

Thanks for bringing this one to attention! This is one of the best "ads" driving mainstream appeal for future augmented reality tech that I have seen. Definitely one to forward to those that still need to be "turned on" to the possibilities.

This is a great candidate for "take the metaverse to work day"...

Related to this, I think: There was a recent shuffle at Dassault. Founder Francis Bernard reportedly retired from the company but has since taken over the CEO position at ParallelGraphics (fwiw, for those unaware as I was, he was previously on the board, so his involvement with the company predates this move).

Now if Dassault has this kind of a vision (and that is a neat video) and already owns a virtual application company (Virtools), I have to ask: What does Mr. Bernard intend to do at ParallelGraphics? Worth keeping an eye on them.
